Automated Concurrent Engineering Software (ACES)

ACES satisfies the need of product designers to rapidly consider numerous design alternatives early in the development process, avoiding costly design iterations and manufacturing problems. The software is based on integrated product development concepts that enable consideration of the entire product life-cycle, helping a design team to simultaneously evaluate the combined effects of geometry, material selection, processing, and cost, thus shortening design cycle time and reducing costs.

CONFIG (CONFIGuration Design Tool)

CONFIG is a unique and exciting new engineering software system that allows designers to create and optimize complex systems by configuration design optimization method. Constraints driven design process combined with genetic algorithms and fully integrated performance analysis tools allow CONFIG to generate design altenatives efficiently. CONFIG also seamlessly connects to the CAD environments. Currently, CONFIG uses Pro/E for importing part geometry data and visualizing intermediate and final results.

Popular global optimzation algorithms like genetic algorithms and simulated annealing with nonlinear algorithms are packaged into one software library called EDOT. EDOT allows user to solve local or global optimization problems by simply providing it with objective function and constraints.
